Réka Szilvay is one of the most distinguished Finnish violinists. The start of her international carrier was her outstanding debut at Musikverein Vienna in 1999. Since then she has appeared as soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Mariinsky Orchestra St. Petersburg, the London Philharmonic, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tonkünstler Orchestra Austria and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg.
She has worked with many significant conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Leif Segerstam, Adam Fischer, Neeme Järvi, Mikko Franck, Andrew Litton, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Sakari Oramo, Markus Stenz, Osmo Vänskä, Fabio Luisi and Juho Kangas. She has performed several recitals in Finland and all over Europe, Japan and the USA in some of the world’s most prominent concert halls such as Carnegie Hall New York, Konzerthaus Wien, Kölner Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall London, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Cité de la Musique Paris, Megaron Concert Hall Athens and Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles.
Réka Szilvay has performed at many international music festivals that include Salzburger Festspiele, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, Helsinki Festival, Opera Festival Savonlinna, Turku Music Festival, Mikkeli Music Festival, Korsholm Music Festival, Klangbogen Vienna, Haydn Festspiele Eisenstadt, Festival Grafenegg and Singapore Arts Festival.
