Erja Kouri
BIOGRAPHY
Erja Kouri is a physiotherapist specializing in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and a PhysioPilates instructor. She received the title of music physiotherapist from the Association of Music Medicine in 2020.
Erjaa is interested in physiotherapy and training that support a person's own resources. The core area is to analyze moving and movement and to find the cause behind a customer problem or malfunction. The human story is important. Music has been an active part of Erja's life since childhood, listening and playing. She began her familiarity with physiotherapy for musicians in the early 1990s with violinists; Days Meller's violin students' playing postures and habits were analyzed together with the teacher. Later, Erja taught at the Sibelius Academy, e.g. violinist for ergonomics, warming and restorative training, and breathing. This fruitful activity continues at the Sibelius Academy as a class teacher. Erja also works as a consulting physiotherapist at the Sibelius Academy and has thus also become acquainted with other instruments and musicians. Her main job is as a physiotherapist at ME-Fysiotiimi Oy in Espoo.
