BIOGRAPHY

Tiina Kaukinen holds a Master's degree in music from the Sibelius Academy, majoring in viola, and from the Estonian Academy of Music, majoring in orchestral conducting. She has conducted the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO), the PMOpen Symphony, the JAMK Campus Sinfonietta, the TAMK Orchestra Academy Orchestra, the Tampering Ensemble, and the Pirkanmaa Youth Symphony Orchestra, among others. 

 

Kaukinen works as a violin and viola teacher and orchestra conductor at the Pirkanmaa Music Institute.  At Tampere University of Applied Sciences, she is the head teacher of string instrument pedagogy and a visiting orchestra conducting instructor. Kaukinen enjoys working with youth orchestras and is actively developing orchestral activities at PMO.
